Yes, there are many kinds of female forces who hit the streets of New York daily, and this site is dedicated to her.  Sherrina Navani, a diehard New York Mother, created NewYorkMother.com to help mom to help herself, to empower all types of New York Moms to achieve their wants and desires, while managing their family’s needs and expectations.

As a driven, evolving woman committed to her family, her career and to managing her own business with class, Sherrina’s approach to helping local woman live the life of their dreams is simple and straight forward, finding local service providers who provide mom with the help and support she needs, in the easiest way possible.
 
Always remembering that she is a mother first, Sherrina never sacrifices her family, but it able to find resources that satisfy’s her needs as a woman, and is able to share these resources, to local moms who are desperate to satisfy their womanly wishes, through NewYorkMother.com. 

From Marketing to Mamma

A native New Yorker, Sherrina decided there is no better place in the world to achieve a higher education, than New York City. While studying at CUNY Hunter College, Sherrina started working in the world of television as a marketing professional, and although she was very good at creating “out of the box,” marketing plans, Sherrina’s deepest wish, was always to be a “Journalist who Cares.” However, as the years progressed, her wish took a back seat to working hard up the corporate ladder, to be a successful Marketing Manager at several Fortune 500 companies, including USA Networks and American Express.

But after marriage, a child and 10 years in the corporate world, Sherrina’s desire to offer insights and information, to make a change in someone’s life, started to bubble to the surface. She could not ignore the need to create a legacy which included helping others to live their best life ever. To be the “Oprah” of New York City Moms.

Sherrina left the corporate world in 2005 after having her first daughter Milanya. It was then she realized the numerous resources online and offline, dedicated to helping moms raise their children, but not much information was available to helping moms cope with their new lives and new role as a caregiver. That is when she launched NewYorkMother.com, a primarily blogging based site, filled with original content.

Unfortunately, as the financial needs of her family grew, Sherrina knew that she would have to put her site on pause, just for a little while, until she could create a nest egg to continue to peruse her dream.

NewYorkMother.com was born

More than just a brand, NewYorkMother.com is a reflection of Sherrina’s values and passions. A place to better mom’s mind, her body and her spirit!

It was in 2007 when a corporate layoff combined with the inability to be the best mom she can be, bubbled to the surface, and Sherrina made a life changing decision. Instead of perusing another marketing role, Sherrina took advantage of several weeks of severance and unemployment, to redirect her efforts back into NewYorkMother.com.

Sherrina enrolled into a journalism masters program at NYU and focused her learnings on new media, which included filming and editing for the web.

It was a very scary time for her, but with a pray and tons of positive thinking, Sherrina re-launched NewYorkMother.com in 2008, with her new media training, into a compelling, mommy friendly format.

After surveying countless number of local moms, NewYorkMother.com was redesigned to offer advice on how moms can manage a work/ life balance on her own terms and, knowing what little time mom has in a day to gain this knowledge, the information is relayed to mom via quick and easy webisodes, she can view online during a lunch break or download onto a mobile device, and watch when it is most convenient for her.  
 
Sherrina was in her element. She relished investigating new and unique service providers, to promote on NewYorkMother.com, providers who offer sound advice to mom and who offer service that makes her life easier.
 
But Sherrina wanted to share more to a larger audience. She felt the information was too important to not reach the masses, and so in 2009, Sherrina launched her first web and television show, called The NewYorkMother.com Report. A 25 minute, commercial free, fast paced show, with show topics that are chosen by emails from real New York Moms, requesting advice on how to deal with their stressful issue. This entertaining and informative show, written, produced and directed by Sherrina,  airs on the Manhattan Network and is on NewYorkMother.com, with new episodes aired monthly. 

Sherrina emerges as the "Know it all New York Mom"

After launching NewYorkMother.com and The NewYorkMother.com Report, Sherrina realized that her online community needed a place to share their thoughts, desires and needs. A therapeutic support system where New York moms can learn from each other. In 2009, NewYorkMother.com evolved again, to meet these needs, and has been revamped to include a Vlogging section, where moms can upload their own video blog, a community forum and a resource page, which is also accessible via a Blackberry Application. Knowing how much support a busy New York Mom needs, the site now works as a great “connector.” A 360 degree approach to helping mom. 

Sherrina describes a New York Mother as a woman who knows it all in order to get it all done. She is effective, smart, beautiful and full of enthusiasm for making hers and her family’s life the best it can be. And when there is a need for help, she turns to NewYorkMother.com for support, advice or just to vent!
