Estee Lauder

Just finished watching an ad for Estee Lauder's Idealist. I was shocked to see the commercial ended with three women, (one black, one Asian and one Hispanic,) and a tag to said, "Proven gentle and effective for all ethnicities."

The product claims to be perfect for women of all skin tones. Really? Or is this an ingenious marketing ploy by the big make-up/skin care brand? I wonder what makes this product so different that it can perfect skins of all shades.

Call me crazy but the last time I checked not all women of color face the same cosmetic issues. For instance, I am an olive skin Indian woman. My biggest concern is getting black freckles on my nose. Does this product promise to help me avoid those annoying black dots that show up the instant I step outside in the blazing hot sun, sans SPF 100?

Well I just checked out the official Estee Lauder Idealist webpage to see what makes this product so universal. Here's what I found out:

The first fast-acting Serum from Estée Lauder Research proven to dramatically reduce the look of uneven skintone:

  •  redness
  •  acne marks
  •  dark spots
  •  sun spots
  •  discolorations

Instantly: redness is reduced, skin looks fresh and radiant.

Over time: skin looks noticeably clearer and brighter, vibrant and more even-toned.

This intensive, yet gentle oil-free serum features powerful technologies to address the look of every key sign of uneven skintone:

  • Triple-Optic Technology
  •  CorrectTone Technology

Imagine skin so incredibly clear, even-toned and radiant, you have nothing to hide.

A 1.0 oz bottle will set you back $58.00 plus tax, so before you buy make sure you try. Here are a couple of tips to make sure you don't get stuck with an expensive product that doesn't work for you:

  • Many high end department stores will give you a sample of the product for free, and it usually is a substantial amount. Use it as per the directions on the bottle and make sure you pay close attention to how your skin reacts.
  •  Be sure you get a guarantee with your purchase. When you talk to your Estee Lauder representative ask them if there is an unconditional guarantee that you can return the product if you are not happy. I know Neiman Marcus typically allows this, but there are some reps who will say anything to get you to buy, (they are incentivized based on commissions.) So get the rep to put it in writing, on your receipt.
  •  For a limited time, EsteeLauder.com will send you a free sample with the purchase of another product, so if you are a loyal Estee fan, this might be the way to go. Go ahead and get your FAV Estee product and request a free sample of Idealist. Also for a limited time shipping is free with a minimum purchase of $50.

In the mean time ladies, I will buy a bottle of Idealist and let you know if it really does all it promises to do. Stay Tuned!
