 Frazzled Day?  Jazz up Pizza Night...
 
I don’t know about you, but in my home we order pizza when our schedules get really chaotic and there is just no time to whip up dinner.  Between all of the activities the kids have going on, this happens about once a week!  And if we’re not doing pizza then we do an easy pasta night.  Casual as it may be, I still like to unwind from my craziness by pouring myself a glass of good red wine.  On these days I definitely don’t want something very special, but rather a glass of something that fits the frenzied mood and doesn’t require the focus a more luxurious wine may.
 
I had a glass of Mirassou’s Cabernet Sauvignon.  Now, I’ve had Mirassou in my house for many years but I was always under the impression they only made a decent Pinot Noir until I tasted the Cab.  This was a flavor as frenetic and unsettled as my hectic day.  At the same time, it was also a distribution of fruit flavors, with slight hints of black currant, licorice, vanilla and cocoa.  This is a great glass of wine that can easily be paired with anything from pizza and pasta to flank steak, short ribs and even a mocha cake!  And there is no guilt if you happen to have it fairly quickly because it’s so easy to drink and it is such a superb value at $8.99.   I ordered myself a case!
